My current draw is too low

If your ECU is drawing less than the expected current please check the following:

  1. Confirm the ignition pin is connected to the same voltage source as Vpwr. The ECU will not wake up if the ignition pin voltage is not high. Refer to the technical specification of your ECU for the ignition pin.

  2. Use a probe to confirm that you are seeing at least 7V at Vpwr and the ignition sense pin.

  3. Check for continuity in your wiring loom for the following signals (refer to your technical specification for the pin-out of your ECU):

    • Vpwr

    • Ignition sense
    • Ground
  4. While performing the step above, confirm that each pin is in the correct location (i.e. make sure that if Vpwr is supposed to go to pin A27, make sure that it is not A26 or A28, or that it is not in the mirror-image location of A27).

  5. Confirm that the pins are correctly seating in the loom connector.
    • If a pin is not seated properly, then it is possible for that pin to back-out of the connector when connected to the ECU resulting in an intermittent connection or no connection.

This did not fix my problem.
